Want to use the Bitcoin symbol in texts and emails? Here are some shortcuts to typing it on the fly.
The symbol (₿) is becoming increasingly common as cryptocurrency gains mainstream acceptance. But how do you actually type this symbol on your phone, tablet, or computer? It's not always obvious! So here’s how to type the symbol across various devices and operating systems.
One way is to just copy and paste this symbol: ₿
Just highlight the symbol above, copy it, and save it somewhere handy like your phone's notes app. Then whenever you need it, just copy and paste it from there.
Hold down the Alt key
-Type 8383 on your number pad (not the normal numbers above the letters, the keypad to the right).
-Let go of Alt And boom! You'll see: ₿
Don't have a number pad? No problem! Just copy and paste the symbol like we did for phones.
Here's a super easy trick:
Press Command + Control + Space
A window with emojis and symbols will pop up
Type "Bitcoin" in the search bar
Click the ₿ symbol to use it.
Want to make it even easier? Set up a shortcut! Tell your device to automatically change "btc" into ₿. Then whenever you type "btc," it'll magically turn into the Bitcoin symbol. There are a few different ways to do this depending on the phone. So ask AI to tell you to do it on your own phone.
Remember: If you can't get any of these methods to work, there's nothing wrong with just writing "BTC" instead. Everyone in the crypto world will know what you mean!
Copy and paste “₿” into Google or Firefox. It might not work in other browsers.
Go to Insert at the top menu, and then choose “special characters” from the drop-down menu.
Search for "Bitcoin"
Click to insert.
As cryptocurrency becomes more integrated into our digital lives, expect easier ways to type the Bitcoin symbol to emerge. Keep your devices and software updated to benefit from the latest features.
While Bitcoin (₿) is the most prominent cryptocurrency with its own dedicated symbol, a few others have also gained recognition and have their own unique symbols you can type.

While these symbols exist, they might not be readily available on all keyboards and operating systems. You might need to copy and paste like a primitive savage.
As the cryptocurrency landscape evolves, we might see more cryptocurrencies adopting unique symbols for better brand recognition and easier communication. However, widespread adoption and standardisation might still take time.
